Armywing for Boys

Army wing for Girls

Airwing for Boys and Girls

This college has 3 units of Armywing one for boys and the other for girls- apart from Airwing unit which is a open unit and located in out college. The motto of National Cadet Corps (NCC) is ‘Unity and Discipline’.

The unit for boys is a company wherein 150 cadets are enrolled. The unit for girls is a company which consists of 100 girl cadets.

The college company 54/10(A) Coy 10(A) Bn NCC for boys is the oldest NCC unit in this region established in 1965. It is commanded by Lt. Dr. Swamy Shada, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Business Management. The Girls unit no 5/8 of 8(A) Girls Bn. is commanded by Lt. Dr. S. Manjula, Department of Physics, University College, Kakatiya University. Both girls and boys can compete for enrollment for Airwing company 4(A) Sqn. NCC.

Aims and Objectives:

1. To develop qualities of leadership, characteer, brotherhood, spirit of sportsmanship and the ideal of service among the students.

2. To create a force of disciplined and trained manpower which, in a national emergency could be of assistance to the country.

3. To provide training for students with a view to develop in them officer like qualities, thus enabling them to obtain commission in the armed forces.

Rules:

1. All able-bodied students are eligible to join the NCC selection to all the wings of NCC and is made by the Officers concerned after a Medical Examination for ensuring physical fitness. Age should be above 15 years. Selected students will be enrolled as Cadets and will be given NCC kits to be returned at the end of the academic year.

2. Forty parades will be conducted during the academic year. Cadets should attend at least 75% of parades to become eligible for certificate examination. Cadets with less than requisite attendance will be discharged from NCC.

3. All the cadets will be given an opportunity to attend Annual Training Camp. In addition, smart and regular cadets will be given opportunity to attend the Army Attachment Camps, Advance Leadership Course,Republic Day Parade, Mountanineering,Para Trooping, Vayu Sainik Camps and deputations aboard. Air Wing Cadets have special opportunity of having Glyde-Flying experience. Warangal is the only district which has such facilities.

4. Examinations will be conducted in NCC at the end of Training period to award ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificates in first and Second years of training respectively.

Eligibility:

‘B’ Certificate: Any Cadet who has successfully completed one year of training and has put in 75% attendance with one Annual Training Camp can appear for this examination.

‘C’ Certificate: Any Cadet who has successfully competed 2 years of training and passed ‘B’ Certificate examination and has put in 75% attendance with two Annual Training Camp can appear for this examination.

Opportunities:

Students Cadets possessing ‘B’ Certificate are given preference in PG Admission,jobs particularly in Defence Forces, Border Security Force, CRP and Police. Students with ‘C’ Certificate are exempted from written examination for a commission in the Army through SSB.
